We normally use this over our Date Cake but it can be used as a delicious sugary sweet sauce anytime.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 227 grams (1 cup) brown sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Combine the butter, brown sugar, heavy cream and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the butter is melted and everything combined.
  1. Reduce to a simmer.
  2. Simmer gently for 1-2 minutes (without stirring) until thickened.
